The City of Chicago Small Business Center (SBC) has partnered with Intuit QuickBooks to help the City’s small business owners. Throughout 2015, Intuit QuickBooks will provide free 1-year subscriptions of QuickBooks Online to eight participants who complete the SBC’s Business Start-Up Certificate Program.
The Business Start-up Certificate Program is free and designed to teach business owners the essential elements of starting and growing a business. Entrepreneurs can earn the certificate by completing a curriculum of Business Education Workshops, which are held every Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning in Room 805 at City Hall, 121 N. LaSalle St., Chicago. The workshops are free and open to the public.
A BACP representative will draw two names at random after each of the four QuickBooks Online workshops. The first workshop — Accounting in the Cloud: QuickBooks Online — is scheduled for January 9, 2015, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. The workshop will be presented by Maribel Del Real, of the Del Real Tax Group, Inc. The SBC is tentatively scheduled to present QuickBooks Online workshops on April 24, July 10 and October 10.
